Waiting For Godot
Launching a new blog is not that difficult. All you have to do is publish your first post. What’s difficult is getting people to know that your blog exists. When you’re on a shoestring budget like me, there are very few opportunities to really create a big splash from the get go. But that’s alright. As a new blog, there’s not much money making programs that I can participate in anyway.
Generally, it would take three (3) months for a blog to start paying for itself. Three months because of the time restrictions that most programs require for new blogs to join. Some would even require at least 20 posts on top of the blog being in existence for at least three months.
Actually this is a good thing, at least for me. I started this blog right after Google’s latest PR update. This means that I will have enough time to establish some credibility and get some PR in the next round of updates. I need to ensure that I get a really good PR from the get go because I intend to lose it 3 months after. I’ll be doing a lot of stuff that Google is not really pleased about so I’m almost certain that as soon as I get that PR which usually opens some exclusive doors, I am gonna lose it.
I still have three months to go, I just hope that I put those three months to good use.
