Kick The Debt Habit

by Merc on December 10, 2009

The one thing that’s worse than having debts is not doing anything about it. Debt is a debilitating factor. Sometimes it can be more than a life-threatening disease because it saps away your self-esteem. You can’t look people in the eye, and any unmarked mail that you receive in the post makes you all nervous and afraid that it may be another disconnection notice.

Like most unpleasant things, the first thing that we all need to do when faced with a debt problem is to acknowledge that we have a debt problem. It would have been really easy if we could all just close our eyes and make it go away. But that’s not reality. Debt is very real, and like most diseases, the sooner we treat it the better.

Once we acknowledge that we have a debt problem, we need to devise ways on how to approach this problem. When it comes to finances, there are really two things that we can do if we want to allocate money to settle our debt; one is devise a way to earn more income, or two, cut costs. If we can both earn additional income and cut costs at the same time, then that would be all for the better.

But you know, we really don’t have to reinvent the wheel here. Being in debt is a problem that has long existed. Which means that we can leverage on the experience of other people and the solutions that they’ve come up with to solve their debt problems.

I was actually looking for products that could serve as a guide to help folks in solving their debt problems and I came across some products that are very affordable. It wouldn’t make sense to buy products that are really expensive to fix your problem (hello, you’re in debt!?). Now I have never tried these products so I can’t say that these are really effective. However the good thing about products like these is that some of them have money-back guarantees(MBG) which means that depending on the MBG conditions, you can very well return these products if they’re not to your liking and the amount you spent will be returned to you; which is really cool.

Here are some debt solution products that I’ve come across. Just to reiterate, I have not tested these products so it’s up to you to decide. I’m just putting them here just to show that there are aids that you can use when you try and solve your debt problems.

Hopefully by using these guides, you will be able to free yourself from the vicious cycle of debt and you can live an untroubled, debt-free life.

  • I agree with this post but I think no one is debt free, even rich people and big companies can't eliminate debts. So, maybe before engaging into debts, one should consider his/her finances and the capacity to pay. I think, it helps if one should find an extra job to cover it's daily expenses.
  • it is very hard to kick the debit habit to be honest
  • I agree wholeheartedly with this post. Admitting you have a debt problem is definitely the first step, then taking measures to solve that problem is the next. Whether it might be consulting a debt consolidator, or taking it into your own hands, you definitely need to come up with a solution to your debt problems.

For me, I've been making money online in my spare time online. For someone else, finding a second job might be a better option. It all depends on the person, but there is definitely help out there.. and it's up to you to help yourself get out of debt.

My daughter had to do a project using a budgeting program for a class where she had to keep track of every penny she spent. She was shocked by how much money she was wasting on things like starbucks and fast food. She was also unaware of how much housing expenses put a dent in her account. It definitely helped her make small changes to save more.
