Money Is Good But Popups Are Bad

After getting all excited about Binlayer and the money it brings in to my sites, I’ve decided to end my short lived affair with that advertising medium. The money is good, but somehow other programs that I’m a member of aren’t exactly thrilled that there’s an annoying ad that pops out every time I get a visitor from a targeted country.

I’ve already reached the minimum payment threshold for Binlayer and I am already requesting payment. I don’t think it is a scam at all as I’ve said in my previous post about binlayer that some really big sites are using it although payment requests are processed for a bit longer than most– 35 days.

Still, that one has been fun. It really brings out the greedy monster in me every time I receive the daily email telling me that I’ve earned x amount of money for the previous day.

I’d still recommend Binlayer to potential publishers with a big caveat: if you are annoyed with popups, then this is probably not for you. Unless you like doing to others what you don’t like being done unto you. XD

I agree. Pop-ups are irritating or those which redirect you to another page.

  5. I agree, i really, really hate pop-ups and i would never implement them.

It’s the sites that have 5 or more that pop-up all at once that I really hate. Drives my resource-hogging Firefox browser into a tailspin which generally ends with a Firefox crash.

  7. i have a friend and he has popups on every site..every page and to be honest i never visit his sites. he is not even making that much but he simply believes in them…

  8. I agree with you. Pop-ups, pop-unders, talking ads and full-page browser redirects are bad for bloggers because they drive more and more readers to use ad-blocking software like Adblock Plus. I ask anyone who likes my site to look at it without ad-blocking software. I don’t expect to get rich blogging but it would be nice to just break-even.

  9. It’s a known fact that most websites that have pop-ups don’t get as many return visitors. You better have something on your site that users really want. Pop-unders are a better solution in my opinion.

I’ve hated popups for the longest time, and don’t normally visit a site again if they have them. While I do have AdBlock Plus to block those annoying popups, some still manage to get by.

I absolutely hate the ones that give you a hard time to close, and the ones that spawn new popups when you try to close the first one.
